Tumba making a come back? PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 January 2008
ImageDuring the Lighting parade this year their were a couple of bands that went ahead and played their Tumba during the parade. Today, on local rasiostation started a heated discussion on the subject and we were pleasantly surprised that many people agree that from time to time during a parade a Tumba could be played. Let's see who's willing and able to play the Tumba during the Carnival parades. Tumba is part of our culture and during the 80's it was played and widly accepted on the road.
Will it make a comeback? Maybe, but many believe the young crowd does not accept this genre of music as part of the Carnival music.
We here at Aruba-Zone.com strongly believe that Tumba has it's part of our Carnaval and it will depend on the bands to play it and the dancers to accept it.
